Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at installing the Hopkins four-pole trailer wiring harness that's vehicle specific to our 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan. Now that's gonna make it nice and easy to get that four-pole wiring and that way you get your lighting function when pulling a trailer. So you'll have your running lights, your turn signals, and brake lights, and that's gonna keep you safe and legal while driving. Another great thing is this runs into a module that is gonna keep it protected from any back feed. There's also an inline fuse from the battery, so that way you're not gonna damage any of your factory wiring and you're gonna be able to plug in to that factory wiring just like that. more

Now, our Tekonsha wiring is going to provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector so we can have all the required lights when we're going down the road whenever we're pulling a trailer, like our taillights, our turn signals and our brake lights. Now the nice thing about having a four pole flat trailer connector is that it is one of the most common connectors out there. Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today I want to walk through how to install Curt's T-connector vehicle wiring harness on a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. Any wiring to your vehicle is going to allow you, when pulling a trailer, to get light signals transferred from your vehicle back to the trailer so that you're legal and safe. Also, if you maybe put a cargo carrier on and adding the cargo on covers your lights, some cargo carriers allow you to add lights on. Adding those lights on, giving you the 4-pole plug, will allow you to get those lights, again, back to the outside of your cargo carrier so that, again, you're legal and safe. It's going to give us our running lights, our brake lights, and our turn signals. more

Today, I'm going to walk through how to install the Curt four-pole wiring harness on your 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, anywhere into your vehicle is going to allow you to pull a trailer or anything for that mirror that needs light functions to be sent from the vehicle so that you're legal and safe. It's going to give you your proper lighting functions, your brake lights, your turn signals, and your running lights. It's going to have a converter box on it. So it's going to protect your factory wiring from any back-feed from the trailer. Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number: C56150.So here's what our wiring looks like once it's fully installed, and this is gonna give us all the required lights for our trailer while we're going down the road. It's gonna give us a 4-pole flat trailer connector, and it's gonna provide us our tail lights, turn signals, and brake lights, so we can safely drive down the road and still be within the legal limits of having a trailer. Now, it is gonna live on the outside of the vehicle, but it does come with this protective dust cap. It's gonna help keep out moisture and any debris from getting inside our connector. So here's what our wiring looks like installed. Now it is going to stay on the outside of the vehicle at all times, so I like to keep a dust cover on and lo around the safety chain loop on our hitch. Now, this is going to provide you with all the necessary wiring to light up a trailer. Now, let's take a closer look and see what comes with the kit. This is where our wiring is going to come with. It's going to give you a four pole flat and a dust cap, as well as plenty of wire to hook up to your trailer. Here on the end of our four pole we can see we have a module box which is going to keep our vehicle protected in case we have any issues on the trailer end that won't feed back to our vehicle. Today in our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, what we'll be installing is Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number 118534. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. As you can see, we have an adequate length of wire to attach to our trailer. This wiring gives us the basic light functions that are required by law in order for us to tow a trailer. Included with this wiring harness is a nice dust cover to help protect the trailer connector when we're not towing our trailer. Also, one neat thing you can do with this is you can use this to secure your wiring up and out of the way so it's not dangling when you're driving down the road. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to review and install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C55537. Here's what our 4-pole flat connector is going to look like once it's installed. Four-pole flat connector comes with a nice protective cap that covers the 4-pole flat connector when it's not in use. We'll take it, run it out over the threshold, staying away from the latch because pinching it off in the latch can damage the wire. However, the weather stripping it thick enough that it won't harm it, so we can simply close the rear hatch on it. Then our pole flat connector gets routed down to a hitch accessory. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan C56150- Video
Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be installing the Curt T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56150. To begin our install, we're first going to open up the rear hatch. Then we're going to remove the two fasteners that secure each of the taillight housing so that we can remove the taillight housing. Now to remove the taillight housing, we're simply going to pop it towards the rear of the vehicle freeing it from its fasteners being careful not to break the alignment pins underneath. Note, it can be easier if you get a flat blade screwdriver or a small plastic pry tool in behind the taillight assembly to get it to pop free. There are the two alignment pins underneath and the manufacturer's wiring as it goes into the taillight socket. To disconnect, we'll need to first unlock the red locking tab and then press on the lock connector, releasing it and we'll set it aside. more

Today on our 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to install part number C56150. This is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. All right to start off our install, we need to go ahead and open up the back hatch. To remove the taillight there will be two screws that we have to remove, you need to use a T30 Torx bit. Rock the light back and forth and pull it back and you can release it. All right, we now need to go ahead and remove the wire harness from the taillight. Press down on this tab right here to release it from the wire harness. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be installing the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118534. Now to begin we'll need to open the rear tailgate to access the screws that hold the taillights in place. We'll remove the two bolts that hold the taillight into place. We can then pull away from the vehicle towards the rear to remove it from the vehicle where we can now remove the plug after pushing on the tab from the taillight. With the driver's side here down, we'll go ahead and repeat the same process and remove the passenger's side taillight assembly. Now that we have both taillight assemblies out, here on the driver's side we'll take our Tow Ready T-One connector with the harness that contains the yellow wire, we'll put one side of the plug into the manufacturer's wiring here and make sure it clicks indicating that it's locked into place. We'll then feed the harness with the green wire as well as the 4-Pole flat harness down behind the rear bumper here between the bumper and the vehicle. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to installing the Tow Ready T-One vehicle wiring harness with a 4-pull flat trailer connector, part number 118534. We're going to begin our installation by first raising the rear hatch of the vehicle. Next we're going to ahead and start over here on the driver's side where we're going to need to remove the taillight assembly. To do that we'll need to remove the bolt as well as here. Now with the two bolts removed, we'll need to slide the taillight assembly out from the body of the vehicle. Next we're going to need to undo the wiring harness from the backside of the taillight assembly. To do that we'll need to undo the red locking tab here. Go ahead and slide it forward. more

Today on this 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan were going to install part number 118534 from Tow Ready. This is their T1 wiring harness. To start off our install were going ahead an opening up the back hatch. Well go ahead and remove the drivers side taillight; two bolts we have to remove, and then we can go ahead and pop it away from the body. Next, well have to disconnect the electrical. Theres a small red lock that we have to push to unlock it and then theres a small tab located towards the inside of the light that we can push down and release the wire harness from it. more

Today on this 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan we're going to install part number 118300 from Tow-Ready. First thing we're going to do is open up the hatch and then we'll go ahead and remove the two tail light assemblies. We'll us e a trim panel tool to remove the rivets then we can go ahead and pull the tail light away from the vehicle. Then we'll go ahead and disconnect the wire harness. There's a small red tab that we have to push in so we can release the lock. Once it's pushed out of the way we can go ahead and press down on the tab located here and then we can squeeze it and we can go ahead and pull the wire harness away from the light. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan well be installing the Curt T Connector Wiring Kit part number C56019. Our first step will be to open the rear cargo door then well remove the drivers side tail light housing by removing the two fasteners and gently prying it away from the vehicle. As you pry the housing away from the vehicle be careful not to break the alignment tabs that youll be able to see once we have the taillight assembly removed from the vehicle. Next, well go ahead and remove the black connector from the rear taillight socket. First well unlock the red locking tab then press on the connector lock and remove it from the taillight socket. Next, we can take our yellow and brown wire from our new T connector and plug it in line with the manufacturers wiring. more

Today on this 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan we're going to install part number 118376 from Tow Ready. First thing we need to do is go ahead and open up the back hatch and remove the driver's side tail light. We're going to remove these two plastic rivets here and here and then we can go ahead and take off our light. There's a little red lock in here you have to push. Push it back and then squeeze it at the very end here and it comes apart. Alright, next we've got to remove the grommet to make way for our wire harness. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today in this 2005 Dodge Caravan, we're going to install the Tow Ready T1 Connector product number 118300. First, we'll need to gain access to the rear cargo area. We're going to remove the two hold-down fasteners for the driver's side tail light and then repeat the same process on the passenger's side. Once you remove the fasteners, gently swing the tail light out and away from the vehicle, careful not to break out the forward mounting tab. Now we can go ahead and disconnect the wiring from the tail light. We'll unlock the red locking tab by pushing it forward and then press on the connector locking tab and remove it from the tail light. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on this 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan we are going to install part number 118552 from Tow Ready. This is their T-One wiring harness. The first thing we need to do is get access to the tail lights because the T connector attaches behind both tail lights so open up the hatch and start on the driver side tail light and work our way over to the passenger side. There are two screws here that we need to unbolt and our tail light should come right off. Our T connector is going to connect up to the black one right here and there is a little lock to unlatch it so you have to push that backwards and then push down this part right here, this little button and it should come apart. To make things easier we are going to remove the whole light so we are going to do the same thing for the bottom connector too, however this will not be used by the wiring harness. 00:55 more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan 118300- Video
Today on this 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan we are going to install part number 118300 from Tow Ready. This is a wiring harness that uses a 4-pole flat at the end and where this connection installs at is behind both tail lights. We are going to open up the door hatch and take off the tail lights, find the connections, and we are going to route our wires into the vehicle itself where our 4-pole flat will be stored when it is done. To disconnect the tail light from the wiring harness we need push in on the red tab and we can unlock it and then we can release it. We are done with the driver side, lets go over to the passenger side and do the same thing. 00:36 more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118376 on a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. Okay, taking a look at the wiring harness here, you can see we have got a T-connector here. That is going to be plugging in behind the tail light assembly on the drivers side. We have also got a ring terminal here, next to this white wire that is our ground wire. We are going to be using a self-tapping screw that is provided in the installation kit. In the middle, we have got the black converter box, and on the other side of it is double-sided tape. That will allow us to adhere it to a surface inside to keep it up and out of the way. Here at the other end we have got the actual 4-pole that can be the connection point for your trailer. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Dodge Caravan- Video
Today we are going to install part number 118552 from Tow Ready on our 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. First what we need to do to start is get behind the tail lights. So we will have to open up the trunk and take out 2 screws on each side to undo the tail lights. There are 2 torque screws that have to come out and you just simply pry off the light. You will see 2 tabs, just pull straight out from there. For now we will just go ahead and let the light sit there so we will have to make our T1 connector right here. Again it is the same thing for the other side. To begin our install, we will take our 4 pole and our converter box and stick it behind the bumper. And it will come out below the bumper. Also the wires going to the passenger side will go down there too. These will eventually get run down underneath the bumper to the other side. Just to make sure we have the socket to hook up take a look at the outside. Obviously this is going to be your reverse light. And your turning signal and running lights and brake lights are going to be this bulb. So you are going to want to take this socket and this bulb apart. You have to unlock it and it should come apart just like so. Then you reinstall the T-1 connector in the same spot. Then take the other 2 halves you have left over and connect those together. Make sure you put the red locks back into place. more
